Dear list,
I have a pull down menu with my application that I test however, I am
unable to hit escape using my jaws screen reader to get out of the menu but
if I hit tab I can escape out of the menu. Shouldn't escape allow you to
get out of the menu? Thanks.

Yes you should be able to hit escape to get out of the list. However if tab works I donât believe that is a failure.
Do you have the same experience with multiple screen readers, or just with one?

Nathan,
Without any extra information, the only reasonable defect is that the pulled down menus do not have the Escape key coded in their JavaScript code. In other words, when you press Escape the browser is unsure what to do.

Is the Esc key press causing JAWS to exit forms mode? Does a second Esc key press close the menu?
